The death has occurred of a great friend of Ógras at the end of 2024 - Gearóid Ó Cairealláin was a member of the Ógras national committee during his term as President Conradh na Gaeilge. However he was involved in an unbelievable amount of cultural work in his life: Radio, television, newspapers, drama, writing, education, campaigning and so on and even more.
And we should not forget his wife & family either. As reported in "An Páipéar" (see below) - Athair ba ea é do Naoise ón mbanna ceoil Kneecap; don iar-iománaí le Contae Aontroma agus bunaitheoir Aclái, Ainle; agus do Chairbre a bhí ina chóitseálaí nirt agus aclaithe nuair a bhuaigh Luimneach craobh uile-Éireann na hiomána.
